This attractive evening clutch is black moire with an embroidered long-stemmed red rose on the front. It has one inside pocket, which is stamped "La Marquise" in gold. The La Marquise Handbag Co. is known for their quality designer handbags and has quite a following. They are still in business today in Montreal, Canada. This example is from the 1960's. Length: 8 1/4 inches; height: 4 1/2 inches. There is slight wear on the front upper edge, but I would say this purse is in very good vintage condition. (#6088-N)
